On September 27, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued a decision to administratively sanction Mr. D.V.T (born in 1974, owner of the Tu Nhien 2 snail restaurant, Tran Phu street, Vung Tau city) for discharging waste into the natural environment in violation of regulations.
According to the decision, this snail restaurant discharged wastewater containing normal environmental parameters into the environment exceeding technical standards on waste by 10 times or more in the case of discharging wastewater from 20m3/day (24 hours) to less than 40m3/day (24 hours).
Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee decided to fine Mr. T (the owner of the facility) VND 115 million for the T-Coliform parameter exceeding the highest standard; and an additional fine of VND 195.5 million for the remaining parameters exceeding the technical standards. The total fine is VND 310.5 million.
Mr. T was also forced to take measures to remedy the environmental pollution according to regulations and report the results of the remediation to the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the People's Committee of Vung Tau city. At the same time, he was required to pay for the cost of analyzing environmental samples in the amount of more than 2.3 million VND.
Previously, in the Front Beach area of Vung Tau City, foul-smelling wastewater appeared from a storm drain, discharged directly into the sea.
After receiving the feedback, Vung Tau City People's Committee and departments took action; Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police also inspected and worked with businesses operating opposite the drainage culvert.

The authorities collected many wastewater samples for analysis; then evaluated and made a record with the owner of the Tu Nhien 2 snail restaurant.
