On January 12, Mr. Tran Dinh Truong, Chairman of Nghia Lo Ward People's Committee (Quang Ngai), said that the locality has just approved a pilot plan to organize a pedestrian street combining culture - tourism - cuisine, with a total cost of about 1.6 billion VND.
According to the approved plan, the pedestrian street will be organized on Ton Duc Thang street, the section east of Thach Bich bridge, the area with a central location, beautiful landscape, convenient connection with administrative, urban and commercial areas.
According to Nghia Lo Ward People's Committee, the construction of the pedestrian street is a policy in line with the orientation of nighttime economic development according to the Prime Minister's decision and the Plan of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee. This is also considered a step to concretize the Quang Ngai Provincial Tourism Development Project to 2025, vision 2030, and at the same time implement the Resolution of the 1st Nghia Lo Ward Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

Mr. Tran Dinh Truong said that the pedestrian street is about 300 m long, arranged with 72 business locations, displayed according to industry groups. In which, the OCOP product area and local products include 6 locations; souvenir sales area 16 locations; culinary, fast food and non-alcoholic beverage area 40 locations; alcoholic beverage culinary area 10 locations.
In addition to shopping and food activities, the pedestrian street also organizes many cultural and artistic activities to serve people and tourists such as: acoustic music performances, traditional music, modern dance, folk dance; performances of folk songs, Bai Choi; installation of iconic models, check-in spaces, artistic lighting systems and "virtual living" spots that change according to seasons, festivals and events.
Notably, every month the pedestrian street will have its own theme, such as: "Startup Month", "Green Tourism Month", "Popular Culture Month", to create novelty and increase attractiveness to people and tourists.
The expected operating time is from 5 pm to 10 pm on weekends (from Friday to Sunday) and holidays, Tet.
According to the plan, the pedestrian street model will be piloted in the period 2026 - 2028.
After 3 years of implementation, the locality will organize an effective assessment to adjust the scale, time and organization method to suit reality, towards building a sustainable socialization model. “In the long term, the ward will gradually transfer management and operation to the community, businesses, and cooperatives, under the supervision of the local government.
