As one of the key projects in Thai Nguyen, the central walking street project is expected to create a modern public space and contribute to shaping the urban appearance of the area.
The project has an area of 6.64 hectares in Phan Dinh Phung ward with a total investment of more than 894.5 billion VND, implemented in 4 years from the second quarter of 2025 to the second quarter of 2029.

The walking street is more than 330m long and more than 52m wide, located between two rows of apartment buildings with a basement of more than 1.9ha, arranging a parking area and commercial space to serve residents and tourists.
The storm in early October 2025 caused flooding in many central streets, causing water to flood into the construction site, damaging equipment and interrupting progress.

According to records in mid-November 2025, the construction site after the flood has been repaired, the contractor mobilized machinery and workers to urgently level the ground.
Talking with reporters, Mr. Le Hong Ha - Director of the New Urban Area Project Management Board, Thai Nguyen Central walking street informed that the recent flood caused water to rise and overflow into the construction site, causing damage to many equipment, with estimated damage of about 5 billion VND.

Immediately after the water receded, the unit urgently inspected, fixed all damaged equipment and quickly resumed construction to ensure progress according to the plan.
This is a symbolic project, playing an important role in creating a new look for the city, while being a cultural and tourism highlight and bringing great socio-economic value.
When completed, Thai Nguyen walking street will be a space for community, cultural and artistic events. At the same time, it enhances the urban landscape, creating an attractive destination for people and tourists.
