On February 10, Quang Tri Provincial Police said that Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son - Head of the National Steering Committee against Smuggling, Commercial Fraud and Counterfeit Goods signed a Letter of Commendation sent to Quang Tri Provincial Police for outstanding achievements in the fight against crime of trading in counterfeit goods in cyberspace.
According to the content of the letter, on January 13, 2026, Quang Tri Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with Hanoi City Police and Ninh Binh Provincial Police to successfully fight the NC925 case, dismantling a large-scale online counterfeit goods trading ring, involving many localities across the country, seizing more than 25 tons of cosmetic goods of unknown origin; and initiated a criminal case and prosecuted 2 defendants.
On behalf of the National Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated and warmly praised the outstanding achievements mentioned above of the comrades.

In the coming time, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son requested Quang Tri Provincial Police to continue to promote the achievements already achieved, strive to excellently complete the assigned tasks; promptly detect, prevent, and strictly handle acts of smuggling, transporting banned goods, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area; and at the same time have appropriate forms of encouragement and commendation for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, Quang Tri Provincial Police presided over and coordinated with Hanoi City Police and Ninh Binh Provincial Police to dismantle a line of trading fake cosmetics on cyberspace.
About 100 officers and soldiers from various forces were mobilized to fight and search their residences and warehouses in Hanoi and Ninh Binh. The subjects confessed to importing fake cosmetics manufactured in China through the Mong Cai area, advertising them for sale on Facebook and e-commerce platforms.
Functional forces seized more than 25 tons of fake cosmetics of unknown origin and are expanding the investigation.
