Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision 245/QD-TTg dated February 5, 2026 on consolidating the National Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains (Steering Committee).
According to the decision, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra is the Head of the Steering Committee.
The 2 Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee are Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha.

The National Steering Committee has the function of assisting the Prime Minister in directing and implementing Decision No. 1515/QD-TTg dated September 14, 2021 on promulgating the Plan to search for and repatriate martyrs' remains and identify martyrs' remains with missing information until 2030 and the following years.
The Steering Committee has the task of researching and proposing to the Prime Minister mechanisms and policies to ensure the good implementation of the work of searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains and identifying martyrs' remains that lack information.
