On the afternoon of February 23, a working delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha visited and encouraged the families of the victims in the waterway traffic accident that occurred on Thac Ba Lake, in Bao Ai commune, Lao Cai province on the afternoon of February 21.
Participating in the working delegation were leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and leaders of Lao Cai province.

At the 4 families visited, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and members of the working delegation offered incense to commemorate and presented gifts to support families with deceased relatives.
The Deputy Prime Minister cordially inquired and sent deep condolences to the families of the victims. At the same time, he encouraged and shared the great pain that the families faced.



The Deputy Prime Minister wished that relatives in the families would try to overcome this great loss and soon stabilize their lives.
In addition, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also requested Party committees, authorities, and local organizations at all levels to continue to pay attention, create conditions, and help families of victims overcome this immediate difficulty.
Previously, at about 7:15 pm on February 21, a waterway traffic accident occurred between 2 vehicles on Thac Ba Lake (belonging to Lang Can village, Bao Ai commune, Lao Cai province).

Specifically, the stone-carrying ferry with license plate YB-0919H, driven by Nguyen Van Tham (born 1984, residing in Mo Quan village, Cam Nhan commune, Lao Cai province), carrying crates of stone from Luc Yen commune to Huong Ly port, collided with a passenger waterway vehicle with license plate YB0876H driven by Trieu Duc Noi (born 1995, residing in Cam Nhan commune, Lao Cai province) going from Yen Binh commune to Cam Nhan commune.
On ship YB0876H, there were 22 passengers and 1 train driver; of which 17 people were rescued and their health was stable, and 6 people died. All these passengers were family members.
