Viet Hung Ward People's Committee has issued a decision approving the detailed plan, scale 1/500 of the Giang Bien Inland Waterway Port Construction Investment Project.
The research limit of the project is defined as follows: The North borders the construction material yard area, the South borders the farm, the West borders the farm, and the East limits to the bank of the Duong River.
The project is implemented in Viet Hung ward with an area of about 23.87ha.
The inland waterway port construction area has a complete and modern investment scale to carry out operations to serve the requirements of transporting goods for industrial parks, industrial clusters in the vicinity and transporting goods for seaports in Lach Huyen (Hai Phong).
From the port area, goods can quickly connect with National Highway 1, National Highway 5 and key routes such as Ngo Gia Tu, Mai Chi Tho, Hoi Xa. At the same time, connect with the new Duong bridge under construction, Giang Bien bridge according to the plan.
In addition, the distance from the project to Gia Lam station is only about 4.7km, creating favorable conditions for forming a transport chain combining waterway, road and railway, in line with the orientation of modern logistics development of the Capital.
When completed, the port will have a wharf length of 600m, receiving ships with a tonnage of up to 3,000 tons, with an initial operating capacity of about 1 million tons of cargo per year.
The project has a total investment of more than 2,551 billion VND.

The general structure research area is planned as follows:
General wharf area, container area: Arrange a wharf area for container barges in the form of a liền bờ wharf with a total length of 600m (divided into 2 wharf routes, each wharf route is 300m long). The wharf is fully equipped with equipment for loading and unloading, and anchoring.
Arrange 2 turning zones for container barges with a diameter of 180m, located in front of the wharf water area.
Arrange container yards with goods with an area of about 7.6 hectares.
Arranging 2 empty container yards connected to the back of the container yard with goods with an area of about 1.44ha, on the yard is arranged equipment to lift and lower empty containers....
Not only having the meaning of developing transport infrastructure, the Giang Bien Inland Waterway Port Project also opens up many development opportunities for Viet Hung ward.
When put into operation, the project will contribute to attracting businesses to invest in logistics, trade and services; creating more jobs, expanding production and business opportunities, promoting economic restructuring and improving the efficiency of exploiting land funds off the riverbank.
This is also an important premise to improve the quality of urban development, gradually forming a new growth pole at the Northeast gateway of the Capital.
