Accordingly, in Decision No. 1004/QD-TTg dated May 26, 2025, the Prime Minister recognized Phuoc Long district, Bac Lieu province as meeting the advanced new rural standards in 2024.
It is known that since 2017, Phuoc Long is the first district in Bac Lieu province to be recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards.
Up to now, the district has 100% of newly upgraded rural communes, 5/7 model new rural communes and 2 communes recognized as meeting the standards of a type V urban area and Phuoc Long town recognized as meeting the standards of urban civilization.
The district has many production models with high efficiency such as rice-shrimp models, models for bringing color to the fields, models for raising leopards, raising snake...
After 7 years of efforts and striving, Phuoc Long district has completed all 9 criteria with 38 component indicators according to the district's National Criteria for meeting advanced new rural standards.
In Decision No. 1005/QD-TTg, 1006/QD-TTg and 1007/QD-TTg dated May 26, 2025, the Prime Minister respectively recognized Tien Phuoc district (Quang Nam province); Tan Thanh district (Long An province) and Vinh Hung district (Long An province) as meeting new rural standards in 2024.
The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committees of Bac Lieu, Quang Nam, and Long An provinces to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directing the People's Committees of Phuoc Long district, Tien Phuoc district, Tan Thanh district, and Vinh Hung district to continue to maintain and improve the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in new rural construction.
