Ho Chi Minh City - On June 15, Tan Uyen Ward People's Committee (Ho Chi Minh City) organized a conference to deploy a plan to collect voters' opinions on the plan to arrange and separate 23 neighborhoods.

According to Tan Uyen Ward People's Committee, the ward was established on a natural area of 9,283 hectares, with a population of 83,277 people in 48,066 households. Currently, the whole ward has 23 neighborhoods.

According to records, this is one of the localities concentrating many goods manufacturing enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City. Tan Uyen Ward also attracts many workers to work and live.

Tan Uyen Ward People's Committee said that through review, currently many neighborhoods have household scales that are not suitable, so the ward will rearrange the neighborhoods.

Accordingly, merge 15 neighborhoods into 6 new neighborhoods, divide Uyen Hung 7 neighborhood into 2 neighborhoods, keep 5 neighborhoods unchanged and rename 2 neighborhoods.

Tan Uyen Ward People's Committee said that after arrangement, the number of neighborhoods in the ward decreased from 23 neighborhoods to 15 neighborhoods, a decrease of 8 neighborhoods (equivalent to 34.8%).

The arrangement contributes to streamlining the organization at the grassroots level, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, creating favorable conditions for population management, digital transformation, mobilizing investment resources and building a civilized and modern city. At the same time, ensuring the full implementation of regimes and policies for redundant non-specialized workers according to current regulations" - Tan Uyen Ward People's Committee said.

According to Tan Uyen Ward People's Committee, the unit is currently taking voters' opinions, ensuring democracy, publicity, transparency, and promoting the people's right to mastery. The forms of taking opinions include issuing ballots to households, organizing dialogue conferences between the Ward People's Committee and the people, and community meetings. In which, the issuance of opinion ballots will be widely implemented for the content of neighborhood arrangement. The results of the opinion collection will be fully and objectively summarized as a basis for competent authorities to consider and decide.
