On October 13, the People's Committee of Di An Ward (HCMC) held a meeting with sectors and 19 neighborhoods to plan an inter-sectoral inspection of scrap facilities in the area to strengthen fire prevention and fighting.
The inspection team included the Economic - Infrastructure - Urban Affairs Department, Ward Police, Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 33, Land Registration Office of Area No. 24 and representatives of the Executive Board of 19 neighborhoods. The head of the delegation is the Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee.
The subjects of inspection are individuals, households, business organizations, scrap storage and classification, individuals and organizations leasing land, using land as a place to gather scrap.
The inspection will be conducted in November 2025. The inspection content includes: checking business registration certificates, business licenses, business eligibility certificates, construction permits. The inspection team will also compare with the city's general planning, zoning plans for wards, fire prevention and fighting conditions, temporary residence registration, temporary absence, and traffic safety for scrap transport vehicles.

According to the plan, from October 20 to October 27, the Executive Board of 19 neighborhoods will organize a review and statistics to make a list of individuals, households, organizations... doing business, storing, classifying scrap and leasing land, and land use for scrap gathering.
After that, the People's Committee of Di An Ward will organize meetings, mobilize establishments to stop operations, propagate job conversion, organize inspections, and handle violations. Monitor compliance with the penalty decision, enforce the enforcement of the decision to handle administrative violations....
The People's Committee of Di An Ward said that the implementation steps will be organized methodically and in accordance with legal regulations.
It is known that Di An ward is the administrative unit with the largest population in Ho Chi Minh City with a population of 227,817 people.
Currently, in Di An ward, there are many purchasing facilities, warehouses, scrap recycling workshops and warehouses of goods interspersed in residential areas in the city. At scrap facilities, fire prevention and fighting are not guaranteed, this is one of the causes of fires affecting the environment and people's health.
