Currently, District 7 has a natural area of 35.7 km² with a total population of more than 431,000 people, divided into 10 wards: Tan Hung, Tan Kieng, Tan Quy, Tan Phong, Tan Phu, Tan Thuan Tay, Tan Thuan Dong, Phu My, Binh Thuan and Phu Thuan.
The rearrangement of ward administrative units will decrease from 10 to 4 wards, equivalent to 60% of the current number of wards.

Tan My Ward: Formed from the merger of the status quo of Tan Phu ward and part of Phu My ward. The new ward has an area of 6.45 km² (an increase of 117.27% compared to the standard) and the population is about 68,887 people (up 148.63%).
Tan Hung ward: Morging the status quo of four wards of Tan Phong, Tan Hung, Tan Kieng and Tan Quy. The area reached 8.54 km² (155.27%), the population size up to 182,417 people (more than 4 times the standard, reaching 405.37%).
Tan Thuan ward: Founded from three wards of Binh Thuan, Tan Thuan Dong and Tan Thuan Tay. The new area is 10.16 km² (184.73%), the population reaches 125,281 people (278.40%).
Phu Thuan Ward: Merging the status quo of Phu Thuan ward and the rest of Phu My ward. The new ward area is 10.55 km² (191.82%), the population is about 56,687 people (125.97%).
According to the People's Committee of District 7, the arrangement of 10 wards to 4 new wards is implemented on the basis of ensuring a reasonable balance in area and population, facilitating the state management, socio -economic development and implementing projects in the area.
At the same time, this plan makes it easier for people to live, produce and administrative transactions after arrangement.
The adjustment of administrative boundaries also contributes to stabilizing the current map, limiting the impact on construction and land management in the transition period; Minimize the impact on people and businesses when carrying out procedures related to real estate papers.
