Nha Be District and District 7 will become urban areas in the South of Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Be District will receive strong investment in infrastructure, together with District 7 to form a southern urban area under Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, Nha Be district and four other districts will develop into modern satellite cities, meeting the standards to be upgraded to a city.

After 2030, Ho Chi Minh City will implement a multi-center urban model, in which Nha Be district combines with District 7 to form a southern urban area under Ho Chi Minh City.

Nha Be District will have a major adjustment in spatial planning. The area that was planned as a golf course will be converted into an urban center combined with a public park. This will be an expanded space of Phu My Hung urban center, creating a major urban center of the southern city under Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, industrial parks, seaports and logistics services along the Soai Rap River will be oriented to develop in the direction of combining commercial-service urban areas, high-tech industry and ecological industry.

Nha Be District will also continue to maintain and develop Hiep Phuoc port area, taking advantage of the marine economy, forming a chain of coastal urban areas linked with the surrounding area.

Along with that, existing urban areas will be renovated and upgraded, while new urban areas will be developed on low-lying land, combining commercial functions, fairs - exhibitions, cultural - entertainment industries.

Developing Hiep Phuoc area includes Hiep Phuoc industrial park - port and Hiep Phuoc urban area with main functions of services - trade and finance supporting industry - port, logistics services, vocational training, finance - banking, social housing, residential area for experts, investors and local labor force...

To ensure connectivity and synchronous development, Nha Be area will receive strong investment in transportation.

Important roads that have been upgraded and newly opened include: Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, Ring Road 4, Nguyen Huu Tho, Huynh Tan Phat, Phu My 2 Bridge connecting road, Le Van Luong, Nguyen Binh...

Regarding railways, Ho Chi Minh City will build a dedicated railway line about 38 km long connecting the national railway to Hiep Phuoc port area.

In the future, Nha Be District will have metro lines passing through it, including: Metro No. 4 (Dong Thanh - Hiep Phuoc), 47.3 km long; Metro No. 10 (outer belt), passing through Thu Duc City, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, 83.9 km long; Metro No. 12 (District 7 - Nha Be - Can Gio coastal urban area), 48.7 km long.

Regarding waterways, inland waterways connecting the inner city area with Hiep Phuoc seaport will be renovated and upgraded.

Ho Chi Minh City also plans a road system along the Saigon River, creating momentum for urban development, trade - services and tourism, while forming a new North - South traffic axis.

The wharf system is also planned with 10 ports/wharfs on Nha Be River. Ho Chi Minh City will renovate and upgrade existing wharves and build new Nhon Duc cargo port and Phu Thuan passenger wharf (downstream of Phu My bridge).
