On July 25, the Military Command (CHQS) of Quang Tri province confirmed that from July 23 to 25, Team 584 and Team 589 of the Political Department (Military Command of the province) and related forces found and repatriated 3 more martyrs' remains in the Cau Nhi area (Nam Hai Lang commune, Quang Tri province).
Previously, on July 10, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Quang Tri province organized a workshop to verify and conclude information about martyrs and martyrs' graves in the Cau Nhi area. Immediately after the workshop, Team 584 and Team 589 and forces immediately deployed surveys and expanded the search scope at suspected locations. By July 22, the units had repatriated 7 martyrs' remains located at a depth of 20 to 50cm above the ground.

Continuing to promote the expansion of the search from July 22nd to now, functional forces have discovered 3 more martyrs' remains along with many broken tibia, tooth and bone fragments. The artifacts found included: tanks, shoe soles, belts, buttons, medicine bottles, gun straps, mine grenades, AK magazines, ink cans, ink pen caps, infantry shovels...
According to historical information, the remains of the martyrs just found belong to Battalion 6, Regiment 88, Division 308, who sacrificed in May 1972.
Up to now, all 10 sets of martyrs' remains have been brought to the solemn shrine at the Temple of Martyrs of Regiment 88, Division 308 in the Cau Nhi area for incense offering and careful care according to regulations. In the coming time, functional agencies will take biological samples (if conditions are met) to serve DNA testing to identify the identities of the martyrs.

Directly inspecting and encouraging at the scene, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Military Party Committee - Head of Quang Tri Provincial Military Command acknowledged and praised the spirit of responsibility and the efforts to overcome difficulties of officers and soldiers of the units.
Leaders of the Provincial Military Command requested the forces to continue to carefully review the area, closely coordinate with the Party Committee, government and local people to maximize information sources, promote gathering, and contribute to easing the pain of losses after the war.
