On January 3, the Quang Binh Provincial Statistics Office held a press conference to announce socio-economic statistics for 2024.
Director of the Quang Binh Provincial Statistics Office Tran Quoc Loi said that the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 will increase by 7.18% compared to 2023. Of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector will increase by 3.08%; the industry and construction sector will increase by 9.70%; and the service sector will increase by 7.23%. Of the three economic sectors, only the industry and construction sector will have a lower growth rate than the previous year.
GRDP scale in 2024 (at current prices) reaches 60,179.5 billion VND; GRDP per capita reaches 65.1 million VND.
This year's economic growth rate reached a fairly high rate thanks to the important contribution of the service sector (contributing 3.67% percentage points out of a total of 7.18%).
Quang Binh tourism has made many new strides in promoting and expanding international tourist markets (Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, etc.); growing and diversifying the domestic tourist market; successfully organizing Quang Binh Tourism Week 2024, a new and unique event, attracting the participation of local people and tourists; Quang Binh tourism images and products were selected by Meta and Google corporations to introduce and apply new technologies, and Quang Binh continues to be evaluated by international press and media as one of the top attractive and worth-experiencing destinations in Vietnam.
Mr. Loi informed that in the coming time, although the province's socio-economic situation continues to recover and has positive prospects, there are still many difficulties and challenges, especially the pressure from the world and domestic situation affecting production and business. Therefore, it requires all levels, sectors and localities to closely monitor the situation, direct and operate proactively, decisively, flexibly and synchronously the main solutions and tasks.
Continue to resolutely and effectively implement urban planning and management and industrial infrastructure. Complete the draft Plan for implementing the Quang Binh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, and submit it to competent authorities for approval. Accelerate the implementation of plans, projects and proposals on urban development in response to climate change, smart cities and green growth cities.
