Quang Nam proposes more than 234 billion VND to eliminate temporary, dilapidated houses

    Quang Nam proposed to increase capital by 50 billion VND, bringing it to more than 234 billion VND to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the 2023-2025 period.

    On the morning of September 26, the 10th term People's Council of Quang Nam province, term 2021 - 2026, opened its 26th session.

    At this meeting, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province proposed that the Provincial People's Council consider and agree to allocate an additional budget from the provincial budget in 2024 of VND 50 billion (in addition to the budget allocated according to Resolution No. 13/2023/NQ-HDND dated September 22, 2023 of the Provincial People's Council) to implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

    Accordingly, support for new construction is 60 million VND/house; support for repair is 30 million VND/house. The total implementation cost for the 2023-2025 period is more than 234 billion VND, of which 170 billion VND is from the provincial budget, the rest is from other legally mobilized capital sources.

    In addition, Quang Nam plans to allocate 158 billion VND from the provincial budget to support tuition exemption and reduction for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.

    Subjects eligible for tuition exemption and reduction include: preschool children, high school students studying at public and private preschools and general education institutions.

    Students studying continuing education programs at the Provincial Continuing Education Center and at public general education institutions. Not applicable to preschool children and students of general schools belonging to foreign-invested educational institutions.

    Also at the 26th session, implementing personnel work under its authority, the 10th term People's Council of Quang Nam province unanimously elected additional positions of Provincial People's Committee members for the 2021-2026 term, for Mr. Nguyen Huu Hop, Director of the Provincial Police Department and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Director of the Department of Construction.
