On September 23, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien - Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee - chaired a meeting on the state management of mineral resources in the province and ensuring the demand for minerals for construction materials (VLXD) in 2026, determining the demand in 2027.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Ngai province, the whole province currently has 112 mineral mines, including 45 rock mines with reserves of about 51.6 million m3; 41 sand mines with reserves of about 3.8 million m3 and 26 filling soil mines with reserves of about 19.2 million m3. In the 2026-2030 period, the total expected demand is about 20 million m3 of rock, 15 million m3 of sand and 37 million m3 of filling soil.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Man - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - affirmed that the source of basic building materials meets the needs of 2027 and the following years. Because, in the period 2026 - 2030, projects in the province need about 20.1 million m3 of stone, 15.4 million m3 of sand and 37.7 million m3 of leveling soil.
Meanwhile, the total remaining licensed resources, preparing for licensing and auction in 2026, have reached about 72 million m3 of stone, 9 million m3 of sand and 60 million m3 of leveling soil.
However, in the past, at some times, the work of ensuring the supply of ordinary building materials, especially leveling soil, still faced many difficulties, affecting the construction progress of some projects.

The main reason is that the implementation process lacks synchronous coordination between agencies, units, localities and investors in implementing specific mechanisms and policies to solve the shortage of building materials for public investment projects.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien emphasized that the source of minerals for building materials in the province is not lacking. The issue is to proactively organize supply sources, especially to serve public investment projects and key projects.
Mr. Tran Phuoc Hien assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to ensure material sources when investors have demand; review and work specifically with each mine owner when increasing capacity if necessary. For currently operating mines, priority must be given to supplying materials for projects in the province, especially key projects.
