Russian President Putin ready to meet US President Donald Trump

    The door to high-level Russia-US dialogue remains open, but no specific schedule has been set.

    Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to meet his US counterpart Donald Trump, but details, including the timing, have not yet been determined, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on September 23.

    There is no specific information about any high-level meetings. Speaking of a Russia-US meeting, the President is ready," Dmitry Peskov said at a press conference.

    President Putin and President Trump have actually always emphasized in phone calls that they are ready to hold another meeting at some point if necessary," the Kremlin spokesman added.

    Also on September 22, the Russian delegation led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

    Mr. Lavrov is expected to have more than 30 meetings on the sidelines of events. Notably, the talks between the Russian Foreign Minister and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are scheduled for September 23 (US time).
