Quang Ngai province plans to rotate dozens of directors and deputy directors of departments to communes as leaders, reducing the pressure of redundant staff when merging with Kon Tum.
The content was stated by the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee in a proposal sent to the Standing Committee of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee, to resolve the surplus of personnel when merging the province.
Accordingly, Quang Ngai plans to mobilize about 40 cadres, including directors, deputy directors of departments and equivalents, heads of departments and equivalents at the provincial level, to take on the positions of secretary, deputy secretary, chairman, and vice chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level.

This policy is based on the 150 conclusion of the Politburo, Decree 178 of the Government and Official Letter 03 of the Government Steering Committee, encourages the provincial cadres to the grassroots level to meet the local leadership needs and streamline the apparatus. Communes with economic scale and large population may arrange members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Party Committee as Secretary of the Party Committee.
According to the latest arrangement plan, Quang Ngai reduces from 170 commune-level administrative units to 56, including 49 communes, 6 wards and 1 Ly Son special zone. Quang Ngai Provincial Party Secretary Bui Thi Quynh Van said that many provincial and district officials have voluntarily registered to work in the communes. The Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee is compiling a list to assign appropriately.
Quang Ngai is more than 5,000 km2 wide, with 13 districts and 170 communes, a population of 1.5 million people, and a province with strengths in industry and sea, island and port tourism. Kon Tum has an area of nearly 10,000 km2, including 9 districts, 102 communes, a population of more than 600,000 people, bordering Laos and Cambodia.
According to the Resolution of the Central Government, the two provinces will merge and name Quang Ngai, the administrative center located in Quang Ngai City today. The two provinces are exchanging and coordinating to submit the merger project to the central level before 1.5.
Regarding personnel, the leaders of Quang Ngai province said that both provinces want to keep some permanent staff at the facility, to close the people because the distance between the two localities is up to 200-300 km, traffic is difficult, but this must wait for the Central Government's opinion.
