Implementing the "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains", Steering Committee 515 of Quang Ninh province organized a ceremony to exhume and relocate the remains of martyr Ngo Khang Can from Deo Sen People's Cemetery, Cao Xanh ward, Quang Ninh province.
The martyr's remains were handed over to the family and the delegation of Cao Bang province, and taken to be buried at Nguyen Binh Martyrs' Cemetery, Cao Bang province.
Attending the ceremony were Major General Khuc Thanh Du - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 3, Head of the Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 3; Mr. Le Van Anh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee 515 of Quang Ninh province; representatives of relevant departments, branches, units, localities; leaders of Minh Tam Commune People's Committee, Cao Bang province and relatives of martyrs.
Martyr Ngo Khang Can was born in 1952, from Ban Cai village, Minh Tam commune, Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province, now Minh Tam commune, Cao Bang province. He is a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Tay ethnicity.
In March 1975, he enlisted and participated in combat to protect the Fatherland. On December 4, 1982, he sacrificed while holding the rank of Lieutenant, serving as Platoon Leader of the Transport Platoon, Battalion 1, Regiment 8, Division 395, Quang Ninh Special Zone, now belonging to Military Region 3.
The exhumation and relocation of remains are carried out by functional forces according to regulations, ensuring solemnity and thoughtfulness.
After the exhumation ceremony, Steering Committee 515 of Quang Ninh province organized a ceremony to pay respects, offer incense, flowers and commemorate martyr Ngo Khang Can.
The repatriation of martyr Ngo Khang Can's remains to his hometown for burial is the result of coordination between the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command, Cao Bang Provincial Military Command, Department of Home Affairs, Party committees, authorities of the two localities and families of martyrs in the process of reviewing dossiers, verifying information, and completing procedures according to regulations.
The activity contributes to the search, repatriation, and identification of martyrs' remains, and at the same time expresses gratitude to those who sacrificed for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
