In Dong Hoi ward, the center of Quang Tri province, the atmosphere of preparation is serious and responsible. Election teams are urgently reviewing voter lists, and at the same time promoting propaganda in many forms, from the radio system to direct exchanges at people's homes. The goal is for each voter to grasp the information, fully exercise their rights and obligations as citizens, contributing to the successful organization of the election.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Residential Group 2 Nam Ly, Dong Hoi Ward, shared: "I see that the preparation for the election is very thoughtful. Every day, we hear propaganda through the radio, officials also come to exchange and share information, so we firmly grasp the election regulations. In our residential group, propaganda, decorating banners, slogans, listing are all done well. I believe that through this election, the best delegates will be selected, serving the Fatherland and the People, bringing the country to become richer and stronger.
Dong Hoi Ward has 7 electoral units; 51 people were introduced to run for delegates of the Ward People's Council, and 30 delegates were elected. In the process of preparation, the election teams promoted the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness, creativity, and implemented many effective ways of doing things, ensuring compliance with the law, democracy and transparency. The work of assigning tasks clearly defined people and tasks; political security and social order and safety were maintained.
Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation, candidate for the Provincial People's Council delegate at constituency No. 2 of Quang Tri province, said that election day is truly a "great festival of the nation", where each ballot not only expresses citizens' rights but also sends the trust and expectations of the people and workers to their representatives.
With many years of attachment to the workers' movement, Mr. Lap shared that the responsibility of a trade union official when participating in a people-elected body is to listen to the deepest thoughts and recommendations from the grassroots level, from meals, wages, working conditions to social security policies and vocational training.
According to him, the voice of workers is only truly valuable when it is reflected truthfully, fully and with practical basis in the process of discussing, building and issuing policies.
He committed to strengthening periodic dialogues with union members and workers; proactively surveying the reality at enterprises; closely coordinating with functional agencies to convey recommendations within their authority and in the right focus.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen The Lap said that he will pay special attention to the supervision of the implementation of the Government's national target programs in the area, especially sustainable poverty reduction programs, new rural construction, socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
