Growth in many fields
According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, in the first 9 months of 2025, the socio-economic situation continued to have many improvements. Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) at 2010 comparison prices is estimated to increase by 7.82% over the same period last year, exceeding the 9-month growth scenario. This is an important result, affirming the efforts of the entire political system and the business community.
The national target program on new rural construction has been effectively implemented, contributing to changing the face of rural areas. To date, the whole province has 39 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 56.52%; 13 villages and hamlets in particularly difficult and mountainous areas meeting standards; 223 villages and model residential areas and 314 household gardens are recognized as model gardens.
Industrial production maintained its growth momentum thanks to the recovery of key industries and contributions from new projects in operation. The index of the entire industrial production sector (IIP) in September is estimated to increase by 9.8% over the same period; the accumulated 9-month increase is 7.7%.
The trade and service sector continued to flourish with total retail sales of goods increasing by 12.2%. Of which, the food and food group accounted for the highest proportion, increasing by 13.5% and contributing 5.1 percentage points to the overall increase.
In particular, tourism has made a strong breakthrough. Total visitors in the first 9 months are estimated at more than 8.4 million, an increase of 17.7% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists reached nearly VND 9,700 billion, up 35%. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and travel has increased significantly, contributing to spreading the image of Quang Tri as a safe and friendly destination.
There are still many challenges
Despite many achievements, Quang Tri still faces many challenges. The Provincial People's Committee pointed out that the site clearance progress for some key projects is still slow; the disbursement rate of public investment capital has not met requirements and is lower than the national average.
The management and handling of public assets after the arrangement is still stuck, many assets on the land of projects that have been recovered are slow to be handled. The arrangement and assignment of staff after the merger is still inadequate. Some important indicators such as PCI, PAR Index, PAPI, SIPAS still lack sustainability, affecting the investment and business environment.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Hoang Nam emphasized that the results of the first 9 months of the year are encouraging, but still not enough to ensure the completion of the growth target for the whole year of 2025.
Mr. Hoang Nam requested departments, branches and localities to focus highly and resolutely not let the delay continue, especially in key projects.
Accordingly, the province will continue to review the growth scenario, adjust tasks close to reality, and prioritize the final settlement of low and difficult targets.
Sectors and localities need to focus on removing difficulties in site clearance and speeding up the disbursement of public investment capital. At the same time, the province focuses on restoring agricultural production after natural disasters, supporting people to stabilize their lives, and proactively preventing floods in the coming time.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assigned specific tasks to relevant agencies in completing the adjustment of the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; improving the effectiveness of investment promotion; attracting large-scale projects, resort tourism, renewable energy; effectively implementing consumer stimulus programs, supporting businesses to develop markets and brands.
At the same time, the province will focus on urging the progress of social housing projects that have been approved by investors, and starting construction soon to ensure the 2025 plan.
The Provincial People's Committee requests the entire political system to participate, lead and direct resolutely and synchronously to remove difficulties, create conditions for projects to develop on schedule, contributing to the completion of the province's socio-economic growth goals.
