On April 9, Team 584 for Repatriation of Martyrs' Remains (Political Department, Quang Tri Provincial Military Command) confirmed that the unit had just discovered 2 martyrs' remains.
Previously, on April 8, in Xi Pa village, Dakrong commune, Quang Tri province, task forces discovered 1 set of martyr remains lying underground along with many artifacts such as hammocks, buttons, and mirrors.
Expanding the search scope, by the afternoon of April 9, the unit continued to discover 1 more martyr's remains and many artifacts.
Currently, 2 sets of martyrs' remains have been brought to the unit's headquarters for preservation, and incense offerings have been organized according to proper rituals.
Team 584 for Repatriating Martyrs' Remains said it will continue to expand the search area in Xi Pa village, with the determination to bring them back to their comrades and homeland soon.
Immediately after receiving the information, leaders of Dakrong Commune People's Committee organized a working delegation to the scene to offer incense and flowers, expressing deep gratitude for the sacrifices of heroic martyrs for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
At the same time, the delegation also visited and encouraged officers and soldiers of Team 584 for Repatriating Martyrs' Remains who are performing their duties in dangerous hilly terrain and harsh weather conditions.
