On March 23, information from Economic - National Defense Team 337 said that at 8:45 am on the same day, from information provided by veterans, the unit's martyrs' remains collection team collected 1 martyr's remains in the Cha Ly mountain stream forest area (Cup village, Huong Lap commune, Quang Tri province).
According to initial information, the martyr's remains were discovered at a depth of about 1m, with many remains such as skull bones (broken), 10 teeth, 18cm long right tibia, 22cm long left tibia, along with some arm bones and ribs.
At the scene, functional forces seized many artifacts including a whole set of hammocks, 11 buttons on clothes, a roll of information wire, along with many shrapnel and nails.
Immediately after the discovery, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of Economic - National Defense Team 337 organized exhumation and brought the martyrs' remains to the spiritual cultural area in Khe Sanh commune for care, incense offering, preservation and procedures to identify their identities.
Currently, the unit is continuing to survey and expand the search area around the discovered area to verify the possibility of other martyrs' remains remaining.
Previously, in March 2026, the Team for Repatriating Martyrs' Remains of Economic - National Defense Team 337 also found a martyr's remains in a rock cave in Co Loong mountain (Se Pu village, Huong Lap commune), about 16km from the Cha Ly mountain stream forest area.
The continuous discovery and repatriation of martyrs' remains shows the continuous efforts of Economic - National Defense Team 337 in the journey to search for and express gratitude to heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the Fatherland.
