On January 29, the construction site of the National Highway 13 expansion project, the section passing through old Binh Duong, became more bustling and bustling in the section from Vinh Binh Bridge to Ong Bo Bridge, about 5.5 km long.
According to records, this is the slowest site clearance section of the project. To date, the relocation of technical infrastructure has been basically completed. All old power poles along National Highway 13 have been moved deep inside. Houses and business production facilities of businesses are also about to complete 100% of the removal. Only a few houses are being removed for site handover.
Regarding construction, many machines, vehicles and manpower are concentrated in the section from Vinh Binh Bridge to Ong Bo Bridge. The construction unit is completing the installation of drainage culverts, carrying out road surface compaction, and at the same time spreading rocks and preparing asphalt pavement.

It is expected that this 5.5 km section will complete the construction and expansion at the beginning of the second quarter of 2026. This is the gateway to the center of Ho Chi Minh City, so there is a very large traffic volume. The completion of this section will contribute to reducing congestion at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City.
Meanwhile, the 9.5 km section from Ong Bo bridge intersection to Le Hong Phong intersection is entering the completion phase. This section is near completion of asphalt paving to widen the surface of National Highway 13 from 6 to 8 lanes. Construction units are urgently constructing sidewalks, installing lighting and painting road markings. According to records, currently, vehicles can move in some sections, and the congestion situation has cooled down in sections that have been expanded to 8 lanes.





The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13 from 6 to 8 lanes, a nearly 15km long section through Binh Duong (formerly) was started in early 2022. The initial investment capital was 1,400 billion VND, currently, the total investment of the approved project to date is 6,255 billion VND. The project is being expanded from Ho Chi Minh City to Thu Dau Mot.
