The authorities in Cao Bang province are issuing warnings that in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas; landslides on slopes, and land subsidence across the province.
Additionally, according to information from the Road Management Office 1.4 (Road Management Area 1, Vietnam Road Administration), at 8 AM today (July 30), a landslide occurred at KM 257+00 on National Highway 3, the section through Tai Ho Sin pass (Bach Dang commune, Hoa An district, Cao Bang) with a length of about 26m, burying rocks and soil over 12m high and covering the road surface 10m wide.
The landslide did not cause any human casualties but affected a 110kV power pole at the top of the landslide point and caused local traffic congestion.
According to residents, the road has now been cleared, but due to heavy rain and the slippery conditions from the remaining mountain soil, vehicles are finding it very difficult to move.
