Lang Son - The slide is about 100 m long, dragging thousands of cubic meters of soil and rock, causing National Highway 4B through Chau Son commune to break.

On August 23, leaders of the Lang Son Provincial Department of Construction said that the incident occurred last night, at Km66+100 - Km66+200 section, after many hours of heavy rain due to the impact of the storm.

Inspecting the scene, functional forces determined that thousands of cubic meters of soil and rock from the positive slope had collapsed, causing serious damage to the road surface.

The slide section about 100 m long is still on the hillside, with the risk of continuing to collapse at any time. The area where the incident occurred has dangerous terrain, one side is a high hill, the other side is a deep stream, so traffic and landslide handling are facing many difficulties.

The Lang Son Provincial Department of Construction has set up barriers, prohibiting all vehicles from passing through the area.

This agency also requested the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Construction to divert traffic from National Highway 18, not allowing vehicles to continue moving along National Highway 4B to Lang Son.

Authorities advised people not to arbitrarily cross barriers or approach the scene because the soil and rocks on the hillside are not stable.

According to initial information, the road section where the incident occurred has just been upgraded, and has not completed acceptance and handover for operation. The package is still under warranty.

The Department of Construction of Lang Son province is requesting relevant units to assess the causes, extent of damage and develop remedial plans. The route opening will only be implemented after the landslide risk is handled, ensuring safety for people and vehicles.
