Voters in Hau Giang province said that the Nam Song Hau National Highway through Chau Thanh district has a very large traffic volume.
Currently, this road has seriously degraded, with serious and deadly traffic accidents frequently occurring.
Voters recommend that the Ministry soon have an investment policy for upgrading and repairing.
Regarding the content of voters' recommendations, the Ministry of Construction said that according to the road network planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 91B (Nam Song Hau road) is 162 km long, with a scale of a level III road, from 2 to 4 lanes.
Of which, the section through Hau Giang province is 8.6 km long, and its current status is mainly new to meet the standards of a grade IV road.
The Ministry of Construction has prepared a Pre-Feasibility Study Report for the project to upgrade and renovate 3 national highways (53, 62, 91B) in the Mekong Delta, with WB loan capital (project).
The Ministry has submitted to the Prime Minister for approval the investment policy for the above 3 national highways in document No. 12/TTr-BGTVT dated February 10, 2025.
In which, National Highway 91B section passing through Hau Giang province is expected to be renovated and upgraded to meet the standards of a grade III road.
The Ministry of Construction said that after the Prime Minister approves the investment policy, the Ministry will focus on implementing the next steps.
The Ministry will speed up the negotiation process to sign a loan agreement by the end of 2025.
After signing, the Ministry of Construction plans to start the project in early 2026 and complete it by the end of 2027.
