On January 8, information from the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office said that with a growth rate of 9.01% in 2024, the scale of Nghe An's economy will increase by more than VND 114,416 billion compared to 2023; bringing the total scale of the economy (at current prices) to more than VND 216,943 billion.
Of which, the scale of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector reached more than VND 46,696 billion, accounting for 21.52%; the industrial sector reached more than VND 67,792 billion, accounting for 31.25%; the service sector reached more than VND 92,590 billion, accounting for 43.69% and product tax minus product subsidy reached more than VND 9,864 billion, accounting for 4.55%.
With a fairly high growth rate, higher than the national average: 6.13% increase in 2021; 8.78% increase in 2022, 7.14% in 2023, 9.01% in 2024, Nghe An's economic scale has been continuously expanded in recent years.
In 2020, it reached more than 144,523 billion VND, in 2021 it reached 155,441 billion VND, in 2022 it reached nearly 176,000 billion VND, in 2023 it reached nearly 193,374 billion VND (ranked 10th in the provinces and cities with the largest economic scale in the country) and in 2024 it reached more than 216,943 billion VND (equivalent to more than 8.54 billion USD); this is the first year that Nghe An's economic scale has exceeded the 200 trillion VND mark.
In 2025, Nghe An is targeting a growth rate of about 9.5-10.5%, state budget revenue of 17,726 billion VND; export turnover of 4.5 billion USD; GRDP per capita of about 71-72 million VND.
