During the holiday, the authorities implemented many solutions to ensure safety, including reviewing traffic signs.

Reviewing signs, diverting traffic flows at hot spots

Informing Lao Dong Newspaper, on the evening of April 4, a representative of the Ministry of Construction said that the Ministry has just issued Directive No. 1610/BXD-VT&ATGT on strengthening solutions to better serve the travel needs of the people, ensuring order and traffic safety during the Hung Vuong Ancestor's Commemoration and 30/4/5.2025.

The Directive requires a general review of transport infrastructure, especially the system of signs, and tighten inspections of the fields of road, rail, aviation and inland waterways.

Since the beginning of April, the Vietnam Road Administration has been assigned the task of inspecting and comprehensively reviewing the traffic sign system across the country. Special attention should be paid to complex intersections, roads with high slopes, narrow curves or limited visibility.

At toll stations on the main routes in and out of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the authorities will be increased to organize traffic and regulate traffic flexibly, ensuring no prolonged congestion during rush hour.

In addition to editing and adding signs, BOT investors are also required to develop a traffic regulation plan when vehicle traffic volume increases dramatically. In case of congestion, toll stations must handle and clear it immediately, not allowing the situation of congestion to cause unsafety.

The Department of Construction of localities is also required to inspect infrastructure on national highways and provincial roads managed by the province, ensuring complete information and guidance for people, especially in tourist areas and entertainment areas, where the number of visitors is forecast to increase sharply during the holiday.

Strongly handle illegal vehicles and bus stations

Another important content in the Ministry's direction is the requirement to thoroughly handle the situation of illegal vehicles, illegal stations, and overloaded vehicles. Transport business units are required to publicize ticket prices and post full information at the wharf and on the vehicle.

Drivers must be checked for health condition and vehicle technical condition before leaving the port. Passengers are also reminded to wear seat belts to protect themselves throughout the journey.

On the part of enterprises, the Ministry emphasized that they must not put into operation vehicles that are outdated, do not meet technical safety requirements or lack fire prevention and rescue equipment. If there is a violation, the vehicle owner or driver will be suspended from operation immediately during the holiday.

Request to increase night flights, minimize cancellations and delays

Not only roads, the Ministry of Construction also directed other transportation sectors to strengthen many measures to ensure safety. In the aviation sector, major airports will increase personnel and equipment for security screening, luggage regulation and bus transfer coordination.

Airlines are also required to plan to increase flights, especially at night, to meet travel demand during peak times. The Ministry also requires transparency in ticket prices and minimizes the cancellation and delay of flights.

In the railway sector, Vietnam Railways Corporation will increase the frequency of trains on main routes such as Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi - Da Nang, Saigon - Nha Trang.

policies to reduce ticket prices for the elderly, children and policy beneficiaries will also be implemented during the holiday. The railway industry will focus on propaganda at railway - road intersections, where accidents often occur, while tightening inspections of railway safety corridors, strictly handling acts of encroachment and violations of traffic rules.

For waterway transportation, especially coastal routes and to islands, ports are required to develop plans to respond to bad weather, not to let people get stuck with ships or have dangerous incidents. The inspection of vehicles, life-saving equipment and the number of passengers in accordance with regulations will be carried out simultaneously. Unlicensed ferry terminals will be immediately suspended if they violate safety conditions.
