Can Tho is urgently preparing for stages to organize the "Can Tho River Culture" Festival at the end of the year and welcome the new year 2026.
The "Can Tho River Culture Festival" has a sponsor of 6 barges and trailers to serve the Festival activities. Of which, the barge is 20m wide and 85m long, with a load capacity of 3,600 tons, and the barge is 16m wide and 60m long, with a load capacity of 2,200 tons, behind the main stage. The total cost of barges, towing ships, and workers... is more than 3.1 billion VND.
Mr. Tran Thanh Vu - the sponsor shared that the enterprise has implemented the underwater stage model very successfully, so the Can Tho River Culture Festival in 2025 will create a strong impression, opening a new direction for city tourism and the Mekong Delta, with the unique advantage of rivers.
With the theme "Can Tho - Color of rivers and water", the city-level event will take place from December 27, 2025 to January 1, 2026 in the Song Hau Park area (Cai Khe ward), Ben Ninh Kieu Park (Ninh Kieu ward) and neighboring areas.
The purpose is to create a cultural - tourism highlight, practically welcoming the new year 2026, contributing to creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people; introducing and promoting the unique river culture of the Mekong Delta in general and Can Tho city in particular to people and domestic and foreign tourists.
The main contents of the festival include: Opening program of the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025; art program serving visitors every night; photo exhibition "Living on the river - In the old and present-day West"; decoration of models, miniature landscape clusters; sailing racing; Sup boat racing; organizing space to display, introduce typical products, cuisine, OCOP products, promote local tourism products; culinary exhibition program; waterway tourism stimulus program; river environmental protection activities; closing the Festival.
