SABECO spends more than 7.9 billion VND to support employees, families and communities affected by Typhoon Yagi

Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO) has announced a total contribution of more than VND7.9 billion to support employees, their families and people severely affected by Typhoon Yagi.

Faced with the damage caused by Typhoon Yagi, SABECO quickly coordinated with the Corporation’s Trade Union to call for voluntary contributions from employees across the system to support colleagues in overcoming the losses caused by the typhoon. The Corporation also committed to matching employee donations at a 1-1 ratio.

This appeal received a very positive response from the employees and the amount of money donated by the staff was more than 1.68 billion VND and the company contributed an additional 1.68 billion VND. In addition, the SABECO Trade Union and affiliated companies also contributed 141 million VND, bringing the total amount of donations to more than 3.5 billion VND. This amount was transferred directly by the Corporation to the employees and their families so that they could quickly stabilize their lives.

Previously, SABECO also coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (Central Youth Union), local authorities, and the company's press and business partners to implement a support program for 6 provinces including Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Yen Bai. The total value of support was up to more than 4.2 billion VND, including essential goods and food for people in flooded areas, as well as support for frontline forces participating in overcoming the consequences of the storm in each province. The program also provided support for more than 200 customers who are SABECO's business households that were severely affected by storms and floods. In addition, SABECO also donated 200 million VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Emergency Relief Fund.

Through all these activities, the total value of financial and material support that SABECO provided for relief activities after Typhoon Yagi reached more than 7.9 billion VND. The Company's employees also actively coordinated with partners and localities to promptly deliver support to employees, customers and people.

Sharing about the support activities after Typhoon Yagi, Mr. Lester Tan - General Director of SABECO - said: “We are deeply saddened and share the losses of people in the area affected by Typhoon Yagi. Therefore, we quickly took actions to help our colleagues as well as people in need. We hope that with these practical actions, we can join hands to support colleagues, customers and the community to overcome the damage after the storm.
