Consistently pursuing ESG (environmental - social - governance) principles to bring positive values to partners, SABECO, a brand closely associated with Vietnamese history and culture over the past decades, has continuously promoted initiatives towards the strength of local communities where the company operates.
These initiatives have received recognition from SABECO's strategic partners, the local authorities. At the end of 2024, the 9th Central Committee of the Youth Union, term XII, unanimously selected "Lighting up the Borders", a project of SABECO in cooperation with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, as one of 14 typical projects to participate in the construction of new rural areas, environmental protection, national security and defense of 36 border routes with 1,260 solar-powered lamp posts (support from SABECO is about 5 billion VND). Previously, the "Lighting up the Countryside Roads" project with a scale of 106 km of solar-powered lamps installed in 63 provinces and cities was also on the typical list of 2023.
Not only are the changes of an infrastructure nature, SABECO also annually implements a support program before the Lunar New Year for workers and frontline forces contributing to the development and prosperity of the country. As of 2024, SABECO has supported more than 42 billion VND to more than 27,800 beneficiaries in 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam through many forms such as giving gifts including necessities, lucky money, bus and train tickets to return home... All have the common goal of spreading the spirit of sharing and solidarity of Tet so that everyone can have a complete Tet holiday, towards a better new year, no matter who they are and where they are.
In early January 2025, SABECO launched the program "63 Connections - 1 Happy Tet", bringing the warmth of spring to communities across the country. More than 7,000 Tet gifts with a total value of more than 6.1 billion VND will be delivered to workers, fishermen and border guards from now until January 24, 2025. In addition to giving gifts, SABECO also organizes community events with a strong Tet atmosphere in many provinces and cities, creating an attractive and interesting playground for people.
Speaking at the event in Phu Yen on January 8, Mr. Vo Duy Kha, Deputy Secretary of Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union, said: “This program brings not only gifts but also great encouragement, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and sharing. This helps workers, fishermen and border guards feel the warmth and completeness of spring.”
Ms. Patsy Lim, Deputy General Director of Marketing and Communications of SABECO, shared: “This year marks a particularly important occasion as SABECO celebrates its 150th anniversary – an extraordinary journey in Vietnam. The message of solidarity and togetherness is therefore more important than ever. Through "63 Connections - 1 Sum Vay Tet", we hope to spread the spirit of generosity and solidarity. Through this, we hope to inspire everyone to join hands and make Tet a warm and inclusive occasion.“
Promoting engagement, aiming to build strong communities
Looking further, over the years and through community initiatives, SABECO has actively called for and promoted community engagement as an important part of its commitment to creating positive values for the communities where the company operates and produces. In 2024, within the framework of a 3-year cooperation with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, SABECO initiated the project “SABECO Sports Hub - Connecting the Vietnamese Spirit” to promote community solidarity through a series of sports and cultural activities in 36 provinces and cities across the country.
Continuing that value, the spirit of solidarity is also promoted within the framework of events under the campaign "63 Connecting - 1 Sum Vay Tet", expressed through gift-giving activities, New Year greetings and fun activities for the community. In particular, in the area "Touching the luck at the beginning of the year" - players receive gifts and meaningful wishes for the new year after touching the touch screen. These wishes will then be shared by players with family and friends via social networks to spread the warm and connected atmosphere of Tet. This spirit is the core value that SABECO wants to aim for, promoting community solidarity, ensuring that no one is left behind and together looking forward to a prosperous and prosperous new year.
