Of which, land for planning works in the airport area is about: 246.3 ha; land for planning civil aviation works is about: 85.8 ha; land for planningunarm works is about: 31.4 ha.
This is one of the contents in Decision No. 207/QD-BGTVT dated February 20, 2025 of the Minister of Transport approving the Gia Binh International Airport Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
According to the Plan, Gia Binh International Airport (Gia Binh Airport) in Gia Binh District, Bac Ninh Province is a civil and security shared airport.
In the period of 2021-2030, Gia Binh airport is granted an airport status 4E (according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization -ICAO); with a capacity of about 1 million passengers/year and 250,000 tons of cargo/year.
The type of aircraft used includes B777, B787, A350, A321 aircraft and other specialized and specialized aircraft.
Landing approach: according to CAT II standards at the beginning of runway 07; simple at the beginning of runway 25.
Regarding the runway system, the runway is planned to be 07-25, measuring 3,500 m x 45 m; material sidewalk size according to regulations.
Planning a helicopter parking lot system to serve the People's Public Security Air Force Regiment; planning civil aviation area aircraft parking lots for private jets and civil aviation aircraft to accommodate about 11 parking locations.
By 2050, Gia Binh International Airport will be granted an airport 4E (according to ICAO's standard code); with a capacity of about 3 million passengers/year and 1 million tons of cargo/year.

At this stage, the runway system will maintain the runway configuration as planned for the period 2021-2030.
