April 29th was the last working day before the April 30th - May 1st holiday, the number of passengers through Noi Bai International Airport increased sharply. Reporters' records in the afternoon of the same day showed that a large number of people were present at Terminal T1 to check in for domestic flights.
Representatives of Noi Bai International Airport said that the total passenger volume in the day is expected to reach about 113,000, of which domestic passengers are more than 63,000, and international passengers are nearly 49,000.

Along with that, Noi Bai airport is expected to operate 662 flights, which is the peak day during the holidays. Also according to representatives of Noi Bai International Airport, passenger traffic at Terminal T1 is concentrated at peak hours: 7am – 8am, 11am – 12pm, 2pm – 3pm, 6pm – 7pm and 8pm – 9pm.
However, actual records show that the check-in area is still quite open, and no prolonged congestion has occurred. Leaders of Noi Bai International Airport said that the number of passengers is distributed evenly throughout the day with many peak hours, each time frame is about more than 2,000 passengers, so it does not create sudden pressure.
The even distribution of passenger volume helps reduce localized load at check-in areas, security screening and aircraft exits," said a representative of Noi Bai International Airport.
To serve the peak holiday, Noi Bai International Airport has proactively deployed plans, especially during the period of strengthening aviation security at level 1 from April 29 to May 4.
Regarding infrastructure, the airport maintains the operation of a maximum of 98 check-in counters at Terminal T1 and 144 counters at Terminal T2, of which 48 new counters have been added. At the same time, 16 luggage conveyor belts and 122 aircraft parking positions are arranged, ready to meet the increasing demand.

Security and order work is strengthened through coordination with functional forces, maximizing screening machines, and strengthening patrols and controls at the station and parking area.
In addition, the airport coordinates to divert traffic in the area in front of the terminal, apply automatic toll collection on all entry and exit lanes, and flexibly regulate traffic to limit congestion. Maintain 24/7 operation duty, and increase personnel at service locations to ensure safe and smooth operation throughout the holidays.
In the context of the aviation industry still facing many difficulties, especially the increasing cost of aviation fuel, airlines are still striving to maintain flight network stability and increase flights to meet people's travel needs.

With the number of passengers forecast to continue to increase in the coming days, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early, check in online if possible and follow the instructions of functional forces to make the journey convenient.
