Among the urban infrastructure projects started on this occasion, the Olympic Sports Urban Area Construction Investment Project is a large-scale project with special significance. The project has a total preliminary investment of about VND 925,000 billion, an implementation area of about 9,171 hectares, an expected population of about 751,000 people, deployed in 11 communes of Hanoi city (including Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Nam Phu, Thuong Tin, Hong Van, Chuong Duong, Thuong Phuc, Binh Minh, Tam Hung, Thanh Oai, Dan Hoa).
The Olympic Sports Urban Area is oriented to develop into a modern sports - urban complex, qualified for the capital to host continental and international sports events such as ASIAD, Olympics, World Cups...
The highlight of the project is Trong Dong Stadium - a national project deployed on an area of 73.3 hectares, with a capacity of up to 135,000 seats, designed to FIFA standards, with the largest automatic closed and unlocked roof in the world. According to the plan, the stadium project will strive to be completed in August 2028, gradually forming a regional and international sports - urban center in Hanoi.
Along with that is the Red River Landscape Avenue Construction Investment Project with a total preliminary investment of about 855,000 billion VND, a research area of about 11,000 hectares, including a 80km long landscape traffic axis, a park system, public space and urban reconstruction areas, identified as a strategic urban infrastructure project, to restructure the development space on both sides of the Red River.
The component project that was started is Phu Thuong Ward Public Park, with an area of about 2 hectares and a total preliminary investment of about 670 billion VND, contributing to the gradual realization of the goal of developing the Red River into a green axis - a landscape axis - a cultural axis of the Capital.
In the group of key transport projects, Hanoi organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi Urban Railway Construction Investment Project, Line 5 (Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac), with a total length of nearly 40 km, a total investment of more than 72,000 billion VND. This is an important foreign transport route, serving regional connectivity, welcoming international high-level delegations, with urgent progress requirements to meet the needs of organizing the APEC 2027 Conference.
In addition to major infrastructure projects, Hanoi has also simultaneously started many projects and works of social significance in the fields of urban development, housing and public space. Including the Tien Duong 1 Social Housing Construction Investment Project (commercial name Tien Duong Park City) in Phuc Thinh Commune, the first model of an independent (concentrated) social housing urban area in Hanoi to be started, the investment project with a total estimated investment capital of more than VND 9,300 billion, will provide about 4,000 modern social housing apartments, contributing to realizing the goal of developing social housing, meeting the housing needs of the people.
