Hanoi - The city is urgently completing preparations to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the road connecting Gia Binh airport with the capital.

According to the Plan of the Hanoi People's Committee, the groundbreaking ceremony is expected to be held on the morning of December 19, at the same time as many other key projects and works in the city and the whole country, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere towards the country's important political event.

Accordingly, the location for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Gia Binh airport construction investment project with the capital is determined in Thu Lam commune, Hanoi.

The project investment goal is to build a route connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital to create the shortest, most modern and most beautiful connecting axis, opening up new development space to promote socio-economic development, effectively exploiting modern and smart logistics areas, combining e-commerce, meeting development requirements.

In addition, the construction of the route will reduce the load on Noi Bai airport, ensuring the operation of scheduled flights to serve the leaders of the Party, State and international foreign affairs.

The expected scale (officially determined when the project is submitted for appraisal and approval according to regulations): The newly built section will start from the starting point connecting to the route in Bac Ninh province at the location adjacent to the administrative boundary of Bac Ninh province; the end point is at the intersection with Hanoi - Ha Long Expressway and Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway/Ring Road 3 with a total length of about 7.0km.

The section runs parallel to Hanoi - Thai Nguyen/Ring Road 3: Starting point connects to section 1; ending point at the intersection with Tu Lien bridge connecting road at the intersection of Tu Lien bridge approach road, Ring Road 3 and Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway; length of about 6.55km (including the section in Bac Ninh province, length 1.625km).

Connecting branch from Hanoi - Thai Nguyen/Ring Road 3 to Tu Lien Bridge access road: Build 2 connecting branches to serve the left turn directly from Gia Binh to Tu Lien Bridge (overpass over Hanoi - Thai Nguyen/Ring Road 3) and the right turn from Tu Lien Bridge to Gia Binh; each branch is expected to have 3 lanes with a width of 14m; the length of the connecting branch is about 2.5km.

Preliminary land use needs (officially determined when the project is submitted for appraisal and approval according to regulations): About 289.87ha covering the area in Bac Ninh province.

Expected construction time of works and infrastructure systems: 2025-2026. Expected type of PPP project contract: Construction - Transfer contract (BT contract) paid by land fund. The total preliminary investment is VND 32,970.23 billion.
