On December 18, Phu Tho Ward Police coordinated with professional units of Ho Chi Minh City Police to block off and examine the scene to investigate the cause of a serious work accident that occurred at the construction site inside Phu Tho Stadium (Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Phu Tho Ward).
According to initial information, at around 6:00 p.m. on December 17, a group of workers were working on a scaffolding inside the stadium of Phu Tho Stadium when the scaffolding suddenly collapsed.
The incident caused workers to fall from a height; in which, one male worker died on the spot, another worker was seriously injured and several people were slightly injured.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PC07) of Ho Chi Minh City Police dispatched specialized vehicles and officers and soldiers to the scene to carry out rescue work and bring the victims out. The 115 Emergency Center also quickly dispatched ambulances to the scene.
A representative of the 115 Emergency Center said that the unit recorded a death that had been handed over to the police force. Another victim with multiple injuries and a broken left leg was given first aid and transferred to Cho Ray Hospital for timely treatment.
At around 0:00 on December 18, the body of the deceased male worker was taken to the morgue to serve the forensic work.
The cause of the scaffolding collapse is currently being urgently investigated and clarified by the authorities.
