On August 11, Tuy An Bac Commune Police and functional forces were still verifying and investigating a serious work accident at the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway project, which left 2 people dead and 1 person injured.
According to initial information, at around 9:00 a.m. the same day, at Km62+00 (in Binh Chinh village, Tuy An Bac commune), a group of workers were constructing a water level by spraying concrete mixer trucks of Phuong Anh Company on hand-built mixer trays.
When the concrete was poured down to about 3/4 of the height, the trunk system suddenly collapsed.
The three workers, Mr. Nguyen Ba N (45 years old, residing in Tuy An Dong commune), Mr. Ton Thanh M (55 years old, residing in Tuy An Bac commune) and a man named Dung (residing in Tuy An Dong commune) fell from a high place and were buried by a concrete block.
The incident caused Mr. N and Mr. M to die on the spot; Mr. Dung was injured and taken to Phu Yen General Hospital for emergency treatment.
The Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway project through Tuy An Bac commune is invested by Project Management Board 85, Thang Long Company is the main contractor, the supervision consulting unit is TEDI Company.
The water level project is constructed by Duy Phong Company (subcontractor), hiring 7 local workers. Duy Phong Company was assigned a person in charge of ensuring construction safety.
The Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh Expressway has a total length of 61.7km (excluding the 5.1km Cu Mong tunnel), passing through Gia Lai 19.6km and Dak Lak more than 42km, with a total investment of over VND 14,800 billion, starting in early 2023 and expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
