On the evening of September 23, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Ha Trung Kien - Chairman of Tan Hop Commune People's Committee said that the locality is focusing on overcoming the consequences of the serious landslide that occurred on Lang Cau road, belonging to Goc Gao village.
According to Mr. Ha Trung Kien, the incident occurred at about 8:30 am on September 19, after many days of prolonged rain. The landslide point is located on the road to old Lang Cau village, now belonging to Goc Gao village.
At the scene, a part of the hill collapsed with a length of about 80m, the slope collapsed about 120m high. The amount of soil and rock estimated from 5,000-6,000m3 spilled down, completely buried the road surface, making it impossible for vehicles to travel.
The landslide also caused the collapse and breakage of 2 0.4kV power poles, and also caused damage to many areas of cinnamon trees of people.
Soil and rocks fell across the road, causing traffic to be paralyzed, 37 households with more than 100 people in the Cau Tren village area were completely isolated.
According to the plan, motorbikes will be cleared by the end of September 23. However, in the afternoon, soil and rock continued to landslide, so the authorities have not allowed people to pass through.
Local forces of the village have also built temporary roads for people to take bypasses and supply food," Chairman of Tan Hop Commune People's Committee informed.
According to records on September 23, in the residential area inside the landslide area, people are still living normally, ensuring food needs and full other essential needs and having electricity.
The landslide road is the only route for households to go out of the national highway, commune center and other areas, so traffic and trade are currently interrupted.
The village has about 20 students, some of whom have to drop out of school because the road is too far and they cannot walk to class for preschool and elementary school levels. The commune has also directed schools to support students in the isolated area," Mr. Ha Trung Kien added.
Currently, the Military Command of Tan Hop commune is arranging forces to coordinate and support the people and Goc Gao village in overcoming the consequences. At the same time, coordinate to perform guarding, traffic diversion, and ensure safety in the construction area.
The commune police also strengthened forces to ensure security, order, and traffic safety in the landslide area; coordinated to guide and divert people and vehicles, not allowing people to enter dangerous areas when safety is not guaranteed.
