According to information from the Department of Transport of Lao Cai province, from July 27 to August 2, prolonged heavy rain caused landslides in 2 locations on National Highway 4D (at Km127+700, section passing Coc San commune, Thanh Hoa city). Lao Cai street and at Km115+190, located in Trung Chai commune, Sa Pa town).
In particular, at 4:00 p.m. on August 2, a large landslide appeared at location Km100+450, in O Quy Ho ward, Sa Pa town, with an estimated volume of soil and rocks of nearly 1,000 m3, causing division. Complete traffic from Sa Pa town center to O Quy Ho ward and to Lai Chau province.
The landslide at Km100+450 caused traffic disruption from Sa Pa town to Lai Chau province.
Immediately after the landslide occurred, Lao Cai Road Joint Stock Company mobilized manpower and machinery to fix it. However, the volume of soil and rocks spilling onto the road is large and the slope is high. The risk of soil and rocks continuing to erode is very high, endangering people and construction vehicles, making recovery difficult.
Lao Cai Road Joint Stock Company mobilized vehicles and urgently repaired landslides to soon open the road.
Currently, Lao Cai Road Joint Stock Company has mobilized 2 excavators and 3 construction trucks at both ends of the landslide at Km100+450 to clear and transport soil and rocks, trying to clear the road as soon as possible. best.
Before that, at noon on August 2, at Km115+190, National Highway 4D, in Trung Chai commune, Sa Pa town, a slope landslide occurred. Two large rocks, estimated at about 70m3, rolled down to block the road, causing a traffic jam.
Receiving information, Lao Cai Road Joint Stock Company coordinated with the traffic police force to organize rope tensioning, warn and guide traffic, and arrange human resources, machinery and equipment to handle landslide point.
After nearly 3 hours of drilling rocks and stuffing explosives, the large block of rock was processed, opening 1 lane of traffic on National Highway 4D.
