Landslide in Quang Binh mountain area causes cracks in houses

A large amount of landslides caused cracks in people's houses in Quang Binh.

On the afternoon of September 19, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Truong Van Minh - Chairman of Minh Hoa commune (Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province) - said that a landslide had just occurred in the area affecting people's houses.

Accordingly, at around 11am the same day, a large amount of soil collapsed, causing a house in Tan Ly village (Minh Hoa commune) to have a cracked kitchen, fortunately there were no casualties.

Upon receiving the news, authorities arrived at the scene to evacuate the family to a safe place.

At the same time, local authorities will monitor and inspect the scene. If safety is ensured, they will mobilize forces to dig the ground to avoid affecting property.

It is forecasted that this afternoon (September 19) to the end of September 20, in Quang Binh area, there will be a period of heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain. The focus of heavy rain is from this afternoon (September 19) to the afternoon of September 20. The total rainfall is as follows: Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa districts from 100-250, some places over 350mm; Quang Trach districts, Ba Don town, Bo Trach, Dong Hoi city from 110-260, some places over 360mm; Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts from 120-270, some places over 380mm. Heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods and landslides in Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa districts; mountainous areas of Bo Trach, Quang Trach, Quang Ninh, and Le Thuy districts. Flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas; urban areas.
