After Lao Dong Newspaper's reflection on the resettlement market project in Vinh Son village (Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province) worth more than 5.4 billion VND was completed but has not been in operation for 4 years, the authorities have taken measures to overcome the situation.
On April 18, Mr. Nguyen The Hao - Director of the ODA Project Management Board of Quang Trach district said that after receiving the newspaper's reflection, the local government met and proposed immediate solutions.
Specifically informing about the project, Mr. Hao said that the market has been completed and handed over to Quang Dong commune, but has not been put into use due to the lack of a drainage system - a mandatory condition to be recognized as a market.

"The board only follows approved design documents. When preparing to put it into use and classify the market, the Department of Industry and Trade requested a temporary stop because there was no drainage system" - Mr. Hao said.
More clearly, in the approved plan, there is a drainage system connected to the wastewater treatment system of the economic zone. However, the drainage system of the economic zone has not been built, so far it is not connected. Therefore, after discussing, the parties agreed to build a processing system right in the market.
"The main plan is to build a filter tank, collect wastewater, filter and discharge into the drainage system in that area" - Mr. Hao said.
The project is currently being bid for a design consultant, and is expected to start construction around July 2025.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, the resettlement market in Vinh Son village was invested with more than 5.4 billion VND, completed in 2021, to serve the buying and selling needs of people in the resettlement area.
However, due to technical infrastructure problems, the project has been abandoned for many years, causing waste and serious degradation. Local people expressed their hope that there will soon be a solution to put the market into operation to facilitate living and trading.
