After the accident that killed 3 mothers and children, Dong Nai bans cars from entering Gate 11 to turn left towards Vung Tau intersection

On September 9, the Department of Construction of Dong Nai City announced the results of the field inspection and traffic organization review at Gate 11 roundabout and surrounding areas.

Accordingly, the scope of this intersection area is managed and operated by Dong Thuan Investment Joint Stock Company in BOT form; Road Management Zone IV is the direct state management agency.

Regarding the traffic order and safety situation, traffic directions into intersections have high traffic volume and density, in which trucks and tractor-trailers pulling semi-trailers and container trucks account for a significant proportion. When traveling into the intersection area, vehicles form many traffic flows with many straight directions, turning left, turning right and changing directions, increasing intersections and conflicts between traffic flows, posing a potential risk of traffic unsafety.

At the curved section in the direction from Suoi Quan bridge turning right towards Vo Nguyen Giap street, the existing road surface width does not meet the requirements for arranging traffic space and suitable stopping for motorbikes and mopeds when waiting for traffic lights, posing a risk of collisions between motorbikes and mopeds and large vehicles. In fact, many fatal traffic accidents have also occurred at this location due to collisions between trucks, container trucks and motorbikes waiting for traffic lights.

Based on on-site inspection, actual situation assessment and exchanges between participating agencies and units (Department of Construction, Phuoc Tan Ward People's Committee, Long Hung Ward People's Committee, Road Management Zone IV, Road Management Office IV. 2, Dong Thuan Investment Joint Stock Company), the parties agreed to continue to implement and adjust a number of traffic organization solutions to enhance traffic safety, limit conflicts between vehicle flows and improve traffic organization efficiency in the Gate 11 intersection area.

Installing traffic islands in the gate 11 intersection area; Adjusting the sign prohibiting semi-trailers being organized on National Highway 51 in the direction from Long Thanh to gate 11 intersection to turn left towards Vung Tau intersection into a sign: "Cars are prohibited from circulating on National Highway 51 in the direction from Long Thanh to gate 11 intersection to turn left towards Vung Tau intersection" (completion time before September 11, 2026); Supplementing stopping lines and traffic lights; Expanding the road surface in some traffic directions.
