Kien Giang - A herd of red-crowned cranes lands in rice fields in the buffer zone of Phu My Species - habitat Conservation Area, Giang Thanh District to make a living.

On March 11, Mr. Lam Hong Tuan, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Phu My Species - habitats Conservation Area, Giang Thanh District, said: 4 red-crowned cranes landed in the rice field in the buffer zone of Phu My Species - habitats Conservation Area at noon on March 11.

Mr. Tuan also said that for the past half month, red-crowned cranes have often floated near the reserve, and today they have just landed in rice fields about 300 meters from people's homes to make a living. The crab's favorite food is tubers, in addition to catching fish, snails, and mice in the fields, so they land in the rice fields of the people to prepare for harvest. Compared to previous years, the crab has returned to Phu My nearly a month earlier.

Red-crowned crane is a rare bird in the red book. According to the International Cranes Association, there are 15,000 - 20,000 individuals worldwide, of which 8,000 are endemic. -10,000 cranes are distributed in India, Nepal, Pakistan. The Eastern cranes (mainly Vietnam and Cambodia) have recorded about 850 red-crowned cranes since 2014, but by 2014 there were only 234 cranes, currently about 160.
