Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee - said that on December 12, 2024, the province will hold a ceremony to announce the Project on Conservation and Development of Red-crowned Cranes (referred to as the Red-crowned Crane Project) at Tram Chim National Park, located in Tam Nong district.
Accordingly, at 9:00 a.m. on the same day, at Tram Chim National Park, Dong Thap province coordinated with relevant central ministries and branches to hold a ceremony to announce the Project on conservation and development of Red-crowned Cranes at Tram Chim National Park for the period 2022 - 2032.
It is expected that there will be over 200 delegates, local and central guests and sponsors. Also attending this event will be many foreign guests, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand; Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand; Embassy of Thailand in Vietnam; Consulate General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City; Thai delegation; Consulate General of Australia in Vietnam.

According to Mr. Thien, these activities aim to promote the purpose and significance of the Project to raise awareness of ecosystem conservation, especially the Red-crowned Crane species at Tram Chim - the world's Ramsar Site... All share the same goal: to create a beautiful image for the domestic and foreign communities about the ecological environment and biodiversity of Tram Chim National Park and the people of Dong Thap.
It is known that for many years, Dong Thap province has considered the Red-crowned Crane as a cultural symbol of the locality. The symbolic image of the Red-crowned Crane is always placed in solemn positions in the province's important events.
