On August 23, Mr. Le Van Son - Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Phu commune (Quang Tri province) said that after the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway section through the commune was opened to traffic on August 19, some households living along both sides of the route have not strictly managed their children, leading to the situation of crossing fences and entering the expressway. This behavior poses many potential risks of accidents and causes traffic insecurity.
The People's Committee of Truong Phu commune has requested the Commune Police to coordinate with forces to regularly patrol, promptly detect, rectify and handle violations. The Department of Culture and Society is assigned to increase propaganda on the loudspeaker system, and at the same time direct schools to disseminate the Road Traffic Law to students.
The commune government also requested villages along the expressway to step up propaganda so that people do not walk, do not throw rocks and soil into vehicles, and raise awareness of traffic safety protection.
"We have identified this as an urgent task, to ensure the safety of people and vehicles on the expressway that has just been put into operation," Mr. Son emphasized.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Facebook spread a clip recorded on the Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway. In the clip, while the car was traveling, 2 people suddenly rushed out into the middle of the road.
The very next day, 4 teenagers continued to walk on this section and were handed over by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board to the local authorities for handling.
