On November 6, the Hanoi Party Committee held a conference to review 10 years of implementing Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the Party Central Committee (11th tenure) on "Building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development".
Many outstanding results
Over the past 10 years, the implementation of Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW in the City has created positive changes with many outstanding results.
The Hanoi Party Committee has directed the concretization of cultural development and the building of elegant and civilized Hanoians, which has been approved and supported by public opinion. From 2014 to present, the City has honored 138 Outstanding Citizens of the Capital; commended 4,593 Good People and Good Deeds and awarded the title For the Cause of Building the Capital to many individuals.
The whole city has 23 high-quality schools, including 17 public schools and 06 non-public schools. From 2014 to 2023, Hanoi sports continuously ranked first among 65 sports delegations from 63 provinces and cities attending the Congress.
To create momentum for sustainable cultural development, in 2019, Hanoi became the first locality in the country to become a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Along with developing the cultural industry and building a Creative City, the City has focused on investing in building and perfecting the capital's cultural market. Hanoi has organized many cultural exchange activities and successfully hosted major international cultural events, creating a great resonance domestically and internationally, especially the "Hanoi Creative Design Festival" in 2022 and 2023.
In their speeches at the Conference, delegates clarified the contents of "Innovation in leadership thinking, directing the implementation of Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW to meet the requirements of sustainable development of the Capital"; "The pioneering role of the Youth Union in implementing Directive No. 30-CT/TU of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Strengthening the leadership of the Party Committee at all levels in building elegant and civilized Hanoians"; "Solutions to build a model of a creative learning ecosystem at all levels of education in Hanoi"; "Developing experiential tourism programs at the Hoa Lo Prison relic site to contribute to bringing history closer to the people of the Capital"; "Bat Trang Ecological Museum: From creative ideas to realizing the promotion of traditional craft village values to meet the requirements of developing the cultural industry of the Capital".
Early concretization of the Capital Law in the cultural field
Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong affirmed that the capital's culture plays an important role, not only directly but also truly. Over time, awareness of the role, position, importance and significance of culture and human development in Hanoi has become increasingly profound, comprehensive and updated with the development trends of the world.
Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong emphasized 3 outstanding points in the 10 years that the City has achieved, which are: Awareness of promoting culture in building, developing and protecting the Capital has always been of interest to the City's leaders over the past 70 years, especially in 40 years of renovation, through 8 consecutive Congresses, the City Party Committee always has programs and plans on cultural development and building Hanoi people in addition to the program on building the Party and the political system - that proves the perseverance and persistence in leading and directing the development of culture and building Hanoi people over many terms.
When Resolution 33-NQ/TW was issued, Hanoi seriously implemented and creatively applied it in the spirit of responsibility for the role and responsibilities of the Capital. Not only implementing it seriously, the City was also very creative, closely following the requirements of the practical situation of the Capital, from which, it issued many policies, resolutions, and decisions, such as: issuing 2 sets of criteria to contribute to building elegant and civilized Hanoians; Hanoi is a locality that boldly introduced the subject of education on elegant and civilized lifestyle of Hanoians into the general education system, brought local education, including the content of Hanoi studies into schools, and piloted theater into schools to educate students.
Regarding the upcoming tasks, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong requested the Department of Culture and Sports, departments, and the Party Committee of the City People's Committee to pay attention to leadership to soon concretize the Capital Law in the fields of culture, education, startups, and innovation.
At the same time, continue to review and supplement viewpoints, ideas, and orientations on building and developing culture and people, based on the results achieved by agencies, units, and localities, so that districts, towns, and sectors can update their planning, so that when the two plans are approved, they can be implemented synchronously.
Besides, promoting digital transformation in the cultural field must be interconnected and integrated into a system.
