Son La temporarily suspends the operation of Van Yen ferry terminal to ensure safety

Son La - Due to the low water level of the Da River, the Provincial Department of Construction announced the temporary suspension of the Van Yen ferry terminal to ensure traffic safety.

Son La Department of Construction has just issued Notice No. 2863/TB-SXD on temporarily suspending the operation of Van Yen ferry terminal at Km27, National Highway 43 from 5:00 AM on June 8, 2026.

According to the Department of Construction, the water level at the ferry terminal is currently only 96.70m and continues to recede rapidly. At the same time, the area leading to the ferry on the Tan Phong commune bank has a large amount of siltation, causing many difficulties for vehicles when docking and crossing the river.

To ensure safety for people and vehicles, functional agencies decided to temporarily suspend the operation of the ferry terminal until the water level rises again, meeting operating conditions. The resumption time will be announced later.

The Department of Construction requests people and vehicles passing through the area to proactively choose appropriate routes and comply with the instructions of functional forces to ensure traffic safety.
