On January 16, in the Ban Chieu forest area, Muong Coi commune, Ta Xua Special-Use Forest Management Board coordinated with the Commune People's Committee and Muong Coi Commune Police to release 2 rare monkeys to the natural environment, a suitable habitat for wild animals to live and develop.

The two released individuals include 1 red-faced monkey (scientific name Macaca arctoides), weighing about 10kg and 1 mocking monkey (scientific name Macaca assamensis), weighing about 8kg. Both species belong to Group IIB - endangered and rare forest animals protected by law under Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP of the Government.

Previously, in early 2025, these monkeys were voluntarily handed over by people and the government of Tan Lang commune (old) to the Ta Xua Special-Use Forest Management Board.
At the time of admission, the mold monkey individual was in poor health, with a broken arm, and poor appetite. After more than 5 months of care, monitoring and treatment, his health has now fully recovered, is agile and is eligible for natural release.
Rescue and releasing wildlife back to the forest not only shows a sense of responsibility and humanity but also contributes to biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest ecosystem maintenance.
