Khanh Hoa - A big wave swept a tourist into Nha Trang beach while taking pictures.

On December 23, Nha Trang Bay Management Board confirmed the incident of a tourist drowning while taking photos on Nha Trang beach.

In recent days, bad weather and big waves have appeared along the coast of Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang City.

Despite the danger, some locals and young people still go out to the beach to take pictures and swim.

Authorities have repeatedly warned about the risks of swimming and taking photos in bad weather, but many people still do not change their behavior.

Typically on December 21, while the waves were high along Tran Phu beach, two tourists still went down to the beach to take pictures.

Soon after, they were swept out to sea by a huge wave. Rescuers were only able to save one person, the other died.

Representatives of Nha Trang Bay Management Board warn that at the end of the year, Nha Trang often experiences bad weather, big waves and offshore currents.

For offshore currents, if victims lack handling skills, they can easily drown and die.

Representatives of Nha Trang Bay Management Board also regularly put up warning signs, informing residents and tourists not to go near the sea to take pictures or swim, because it is potentially dangerous.
